Article R1211-36 of the French Public Health Code

I. – The establishments and organisations mentioned in 3° of Article R. 1211-32 appoint at least one local biovigilance correspondent and a deputy.

As soon as they are appointed, the identity, status, experience and contact details of the local biovigilance correspondent and his/her alternate are communicated to the Agence de la biomédecine by the head of the structure in which the correspondent and his/her alternate perform their duties.

The provisions of this sub-section also apply to the deputy of the local biovigilance correspondent.

II. – The local correspondent for the biovigilance system is a doctor or, in the absence of a doctor, a pharmacist or a nurse with at least three years’ experience in the areas of competence covered by the activities mentioned in this section.

I. – Les établissements et organismes mentionnés au 3° de l’article R. 1211-32 désignent au moins un correspondant local de biovigilance et un suppléant.


Dès leur désignation, l’identité, la qualité, l’expérience et les coordonnées du correspondant local de biovigilance et de son suppléant sont communiquées à l’Agence de la biomédecine par le responsable de la structure dans laquelle le correspondant et son suppléant exercent leurs fonctions.


Les dispositions de la présente sous-section s’appliquent également au suppléant du correspondant local de biovigilance.


II. – Le correspondant local du dispositif de biovigilance est un médecin ou, en l’absence de médecin, un pharmacien ou un infirmier disposant d’une expérience d’au moins trois ans dans les domaines de compétence couverts par les activités mentionnées dans la présente section.
