All blood establishments have the means to ensure the quality control of their products. However, the blood establishment may entrust quality control, under an agreement, either to another blood establishment or to an external laboratory authorised to carry out the corresponding activity; it may also enter into an agreement for the irradiation of the products it prepares with another blood establishment or, where appropriate, with a health establishment.

Tout établissement de transfusion sanguine dispose des moyens lui permettant d’assurer le contrôle de qualité de ses produits. Toutefois, l’établissement de transfusion sanguine peut confier le contrôle de qualité, par une convention, soit à un autre établissement de transfusion sanguine, soit à un laboratoire extérieur autorisé à exercer l’activité correspondante ; il peut également passer convention pour l’irradiation des produits qu’il prépare avec un autre établissement de transfusion sanguine ou, le cas échéant, avec un établissement de santé.
