When the conduct of medical teaching and research activities makes it essential to have recourse to the segmentation of the donor’s body, the head of the receiving structure shall authorise this, on an exceptional basis, after obtaining the opinion of the ethics, scientific and educational committee.
Similarly, the temporary removal of the body may only be authorised when medical teaching or research activities cannot be organised on the premises of the receiving structure. This operation is organised under the responsibility of the establishment holding the authorisation provided for in the second paragraph of article L. 1261-1 and the person in charge of the body reception facility, in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the agreement provided for in article R. 1261-22.
In the event of temporary removal of the body, it is wrapped ́ in a closed impermeable body bag and transported under appropriate sanitary conditions specified by order of the Minister responsible for health.
