Article R1261-7 of the French Public Health Code

At the end of the medical teaching and research activities, the establishment determines the most appropriate type of funeral operation according to the nature of the activity performed on the body. It shall take into account the preference expressed by the donor when consenting to the donation and, where applicable, the request expressed by the referent person designated by the donor, or by the donor’s family or close relations under the conditions of I of article R. 1261-8.

Au terme des activités d’enseignement médical et de recherche, l’établissement détermine le type d’opération funéraire le plus adapté en fonction de la nature de l’activité pratiquée sur le corps. Il tient compte de la préférence exprimée par le donneur lors de son consentement au don et, le cas échéant, de la demande exprimée par la personne référente qu’il a désignée, par sa famille ou ses proches dans les conditions du I de l’article R. 1261-8.
