Article R127 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Military personnel of the land, sea and air and space armies, on active service, when called as witnesses, are not entitled to any tax or indemnity payable out of the criminal, correctional and police justice funds, for travel and subsistence expenses, unless they are summoned to the place of their domicile, while on leave or on furlough, and on the date of their appearance such leave or furlough, is still in progress.

Les militaires des armées de terre, de mer et de l’air et de l’espace, en activité de service, lorsqu’ils sont appelés en témoignage, n’ont droit à aucune taxe ni à aucune indemnité payables sur les fonds de justice criminelle, correctionnelle et de police, pour frais de voyage et de séjour, à moins qu’ils ne soient cités au lieu de leur domicile, pendant qu’ils sont en congé ou en permission, et qu’à la date de leur comparution ce congé ou cette permission, soit encore en cours.
