Article R1321-94 of the French Public Health Code

The composition of a water which is the subject of a numerical description appearing both on packaging or labels and in advertising must not differ from that presented by the water to which the said description refers.

However, differences in the composition of a spring water resulting from variations due to natural fluctuations which do not affect the stability of the essential characteristics of the water are not considered to be differences within the meaning of this article.

Any container used for packaging a water must be fitted with a closing device designed to prevent any possibility of falsification or contamination.

Article R1321-94
