I.-“Identification of list B materials and products containing asbestos” means the task of :
1° Searching for the presence of list B materials and products that are accessible without destructive work;
2° Identifying and locating materials and products containing asbestos;
3° Assessing the state of conservation of materials and products containing asbestos and their risk of deterioration due to their environment.
II – When the search reveals the presence of materials or products on list B and if there is any doubt about the presence of asbestos in these materials or products, one or more samples of materials or products are taken by the person carrying out the search. These samples are analysed in accordance with the procedures defined in article R. 1334-24.
III – At the end of the inspection, the person who carried it out draws up an inspection report, which is given to the owner against acknowledgement of receipt.
IV-If the condition of certain asbestos-containing materials or products has deteriorated or there is a risk of rapid deterioration, the inspection report will make recommendations for their management in line with the need to protect people.
V.-A joint order by the ministers responsible for construction, health and labour specifies the criteria for assessing the state of conservation of materials and products and the risk of deterioration linked to the environment, as well as the content of the survey report.
