The Director General of the Regional Health Agency shall designate a public health establishment in which the Regional Centre for Occupational and Environmental Pathologies will be located, for a renewable period of five years. The centre may include several units housed in other health establishments in the region.
This designation is made following a call for applications in accordance with specifications defined by an order of the ministers responsible for health and labour, with which the centres must comply. These specifications shall specify in particular the nature of the centres’ activities and their organisation.
The head of the centre, whose identity shall be stated in the application form, shall be a member of the teaching and hospital staff of the hospital and university centres and a doctor specialising in occupational medicine.
The Director General of the Regional Health Agency may call on the Regional Centre for Occupational and Environmental Pathologies in another region to pool the performance of some of the tasks mentioned in Article R. 1339-1, with the agreement of the Director General of the relevant Regional Health Agency.
