Article R1413-83 of the French Public Health Code

In each region, a support centre for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections is responsible for implementing the health policy guidelines defined in article L. 1411-1 , with a view to preventing healthcare-associated infections:

1° Expertise and support for healthcare professionals, wherever and however they practise, in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and resistance to anti-infectives;

2° Coordinating or leading networks of healthcare professionals involved in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections;

3° Investigating and following up the declarations mentioned in article R. 1413-79 and supporting their management at the request of the healthcare professionals concerned or the Regional Health Agency.

The centre is a member of the regional vigilance and support network for its region mentioned in article R. 1413-62. It participates in the work of this network, in particular on the organisation of health monitoring and vigilance.

Article R1413-83

Dans chaque région, pour la mise en œuvre des orientations de la politique de santé définie à l’article L. 1411-1 concourant à la prévention des infections associées aux soins, un centre d’appui pour la prévention des infections associées aux soins assure les missions suivantes :

1° L’expertise et l’appui aux professionnels de santé, quels que soient leurs lieux et modes d’exercice, pour la prévention des infections associées aux soins et de la résistance aux anti-infectieux ;

2° La coordination ou l’animation de réseaux de professionnels de santé concourant à la prévention des infections associées aux soins ;

3° L’investigation, le suivi des déclarations mentionnées à l’article R. 1413-79 et l’appui à leur gestion à la demande des professionnels de santé concernés ou de l’agence régionale de santé.

Le centre est membre du réseau régional de vigilances et d’appui de sa région mentionné à l’article R. 1413-62. Il participe aux travaux de celui-ci, notamment sur l’organisation de la veille sanitaire et des vigilances.
