Article R1413-89-1 of the French Public Health Code

The Minister for Health defines national guidelines for the prevention and management of healthcare-associated infections and the prevention of resistance to anti-infectives, in particular antibiotic resistance. It coordinates and monitors this policy.

The Minister for Health may, if necessary jointly, instruct one or more support centres for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections mentioned in article R. 1413-83 and one or more regional centres for antibiotic therapy mentioned in article R. 1413-86 to conduct studies and work concerning the prevention of healthcare-associated infections and resistance to anti-infectives, in particular antibiotic resistance.

Le ministre chargé de la santé définit les orientations nationales en matière de prévention et de gestion des infections associées aux soins ainsi que de prévention de la résistance aux anti-infectieux, en particulier l’antibiorésistance. Il assure la coordination et le suivi de cette politique.


Le ministre chargé de la santé peut charger, le cas échéant de manière conjointe, un ou plusieurs centres d’appui pour la prévention des infections associées aux soins mentionnés à l’article R. 1413-83 et un ou plusieurs centres régionaux en antibiothérapie mentionnés à l’article R. 1413-86 de conduire des études et travaux concernant la prévention des infections associées aux soins et la résistance aux anti-infectieux, en particulier l’antibiorésistance.
