As part of the tasks conferred on it by Article L. 1418-1, the Agence de la biomédecine is in particular responsible for :
1° Managing the national list of patients waiting for organ and corneal transplants mentioned in Article L. 1251-1, the register of pairs of living donors and potential recipients who have consented to cross-organ donation mentioned in 7° of Article L. 1418-1 ;
2° The management and operation of the automated national register of organ removal refusals referred to in Article L. 1232-1;
3° Supervising and coordinating the removal and transplantation of organs, tissues and cells from the human body, including international exchanges of grafts;
4° The management and operation of the national register of donors of haematopoietic stem cells, peripheral blood mononuclear cells and placental blood units under the conditions set out in Article R. 1418-1-1 ;
4° bis The implementation of the processing of personal data relating to third-party donors, their donations and persons born as a result of these donations, as well as the identity of recipient persons or couples, as provided for in Article L. 2143-4, under the conditions set out in Articles R. 2143-10 to R. 2143-15;
5° The secretariat of the national committee mentioned in article L. 162-30-5 of the Social Security Code.
