A joint order of the Minister for the Interior and the Ministers for the Environment and Forestry defines the elements that must be included in the application for recognition of technical aptitude for the duties of private security guard, the content and duration of the training required for recognition of this technical aptitude, and the categories of persons for whom training is not required.
The technical aptitude of the person wishing to carry out the duties of a private security guard is established by order of the prefect of the département where the training was taken or, where the applicant belongs to one of the categories of persons for whom no training is required, by order of the prefect of the département of his residence or of the département in which he plans to carry out his duties.
If the prefect deems that the evidence provided justifies the applicant’s suitability to carry out the duties of a private security guard, he will issue an order recognising the applicant’s technical suitability to carry out the duties of a private security guard in the areas set out in the order. This order is valid throughout France.
