Article R15-33-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In order to be designated to carry out certain judicial police missions, customs officers must provide proof of at least two years’ actual service as a titular officer in a category A or B corps of the Directorate General of Customs and Indirect Rights and have passed the tests of a technical examination.

The procedures for organising this examination and the programme of tests shall be laid down by joint order of the Minister of Justice and the Minister responsible for customs.

Pour pouvoir être désignés aux fins d’être chargés de certaines missions de police judiciaire, les agents des douanes doivent justifier d’au moins deux ans de services effectifs en qualité de titulaire dans un corps de catégorie A ou B de la direction générale des douanes et droits indirects et avoir satisfait aux épreuves d’un examen technique.

Les modalités d’organisation de cet examen et le programme des épreuves sont fixés par arrêté conjoint du garde des sceaux, ministre de la justice, et du ministre chargé des douanes.
