Article R1511-43 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Per year, the amount of subsidy granted by one or more local authorities may not exceed 30% of the establishment’s turnover, or 30% of the cost of the project if it relates exclusively to work likely to give rise to the award of financial aid for the creation and modernisation of cinematographic entertainment establishments by the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée pursuant to the b du 2° de l’article L. 111-2 du code du cinéma et de l’image animée.

Investments linked to the creation or modernisation of cinematographic entertainment establishments may relate in particular to existing or future buildings, technical operating conditions, access to the establishment, the comfort of theatres as well as the creation of new theatres within an establishment.

Par année, le montant de subvention accordé par une ou plusieurs collectivités locales ne peut excéder 30 % du chiffre d’affaires de l’établissement, ou 30 % du coût du projet si celui-ci porte exclusivement sur des travaux susceptibles de donner lieu à l’attribution d’aides financières à la création et à la modernisation des établissements de spectacle cinématographique par le Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée en application du b du 2° de l’article L. 111-2 du code du cinéma et de l’image animée.

Les investissements liés à la création ou la modernisation des établissements de spectacle cinématographique peuvent notamment porter sur les bâtiments existants ou à construire, les conditions techniques d’exploitation, l’accès à l’établissement, le confort des salles de spectacles ainsi que sur la création de nouvelles salles dans un établissement.
