Article R17-4 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The receipt given to the person under investigation in exchange for the documents referred to in 7° of Article 138 must mention the nature and references of the document withdrawn, the surname, forenames, date of birth and domicile of the person concerned; it must also include a recent photograph of the person under investigation and state that it constitutes proof of identity.

The receipt must be returned by the person under investigation when the document withdrawn is returned to him or her.

Le récépissé remis à la personne mise en examen en échange des documents visés au 7° de l’article 138 doit mentionner la nature et les références du document retiré, les nom, prénoms, date de naissance et domicile de l’intéressée ; il doit comporter en outre, une photographie récente de la personne mise en examen et indiquer qu’il vaut justification de l’identité.

Le récépissé doit être remis par la personne mise en examen lorsque le document retiré lui est restitué.
