Article R183 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where the Public Prosecutor has not been issued with a copy of the documents or judgments to be served, service shall be made by the bailiffs on the minutes entrusted to them by the registrars against receipt, on condition that they return them to the registry within twenty-four hours of service.

When a document or judgment has been given in a copy to the public prosecutor, service is made on this copy without a second copy being issued for this purpose.

Lorsqu’il n’a pas été délivré au ministère public d’expédition des actes ou jugements à signifier, les significations sont faites par les huissiers de justice sur les minutes qui leur sont confiées par les greffiers contre récépissé, à la charge par eux de les rétablir au greffe dans les vingt-quatre heures qui suivent la signification.

Lorsqu’un acte ou jugement a été remis en expédition au ministère public, la signification est faite sur cette expédition sans qu’il en soit délivré une seconde pour cet objet.
