Article R24-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

If the investigating judge has decided that the surety or sureties will fully guarantee the rights of one or more civil parties, they shall be constituted for the benefit of those parties.

If the investigating judge has decided that the surety or sureties will fully guarantee the representation of the person and the payment of fines, they shall be constituted for the benefit of the Treasury.

If the investigating judge has decided that the security or securities will guarantee the rights and objectives mentioned in the two preceding paragraphs, they shall be constituted for the benefit of the civil parties and the Public Treasury.

Article R24-1

Si le juge d’instruction a décidé que la ou les sûretés garantiront en totalité les droits d’une ou plusieurs parties civiles, elles sont constituées au bénéfice de celles-ci.

Si le juge d’instruction a décidé que la ou les sûretés garantiront en totalité la représentation de la personne et le paiement des amendes, elles sont constituées au bénéfice du Trésor public.

Si le juge d’instruction a décidé que la ou les sûretés garantiront les droits et objectifs mentionnés aux deux alinéas précédents, elles sont constituées au bénéfice des parties civiles et du Trésor public.
