The reports referred to in I of Article R. 3113-1 shall be sent without delay by the doctor or the head of the biology department or medical biology laboratory, whether public or private, to the authorised staff of the Regional Health Agency, specially designated by the Director General of the Agency for this purpose.
These reports are made by any secure means and may be transmitted via information systems set up for this purpose. Only the managers of the biology department or medical biology laboratory may issue an alert using the information system referred to inArticle R. 1413-58-1.
These reports are kept in conditions that guarantee their security, integrity and confidentiality with regard to third parties.
The Regional Health Agency assesses the need to implement individual and collective prevention measures as a matter of urgency and to initiate investigations to identify the origin of the contamination or exposure.
If the information gathered proves insufficient, the authorised staff of the Regional Health Agency will ask the professional who reported the case to provide them with all the information in addition to that mentioned in article R. 3113-2 which is strictly necessary for the implementation of these investigation and intervention measures, including, where applicable, the identity and contact details of contact persons and secondary cases.
The strictly necessary information mentioned in article R. 3113-2 and in the previous paragraph may be passed on to other professionals when their intervention is essential for the implementation of individual and collective prevention measures. It will only be kept for as long as is necessary for the investigation and intervention.
