Article R3131-21 of the French Public Health Code

The order of the liberty and custody judge may be appealed to the first president of the court of appeal or his delegate within five days of its notification. The First President of the Court of Appeal or his delegate shall then give a ruling without delay. The provisions of article R. 3131-20 apply before the Court of Appeal.

L’ordonnance du juge des libertés et de la détention est susceptible d’appel devant le premier président de la cour d’appel ou son délégué dans les cinq jours de sa notification. Le premier président de la cour d’appel ou son délégué statue alors à bref délai. Les dispositions de l’article R. 3131-20 s’appliquent devant la cour d’appel.
