The declaration of festivals and fairs defined in article R. 3322-1 must be made to the Prefect of the département in which the event is to be held or, in Paris, to the Police Prefect or, in the département of Bouches-du-Rhône, to the Bouches-du-Rhône Police Prefect, no later than 90 clear days before the festival or fair is to be held. A receipt is issued once the declaration file is complete.
It must include the following information
1° The identity and contact details of the organising natural or legal person;
2° The date, time and location of the event;
3° The purpose of the event;
4° The number of people expected to attend;
5° The manner in which alcohol will be offered: free of charge or for sale, with an indication of prices and opening hours;
6° The expected quantity of alcohol (in pure alcohol);
7° The category of alcoholic beverages sold or offered;
8° The measures taken to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Public Health Code relating to the protection of minors and the prevention of public drunkenness;
9° Any information attesting to the traditional nature of the event.
A copy of this information is sent by the State representative to the mayor of the town or towns where the event is taking place.
