Article R351-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When a foreign national who presents himself at the border applies for asylum, he shall be informed without delay, in a language he understands or may reasonably be expected to understand, of the asylum application procedure and how it is conducted, of his rights and obligations during this procedure, of the possible consequences of failing to comply with his obligations or refusing to cooperate with the authorities and of the means available to help him submit his application.
Where the examination of the asylum application is likely to be the responsibility of another State, the foreign national shall be informed, in a language which he understands or may reasonably be expected to understand, of the application of Regulation (EU) No 604/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013 establishing the criteria and mechanisms for determining the Member State responsible for examining an application for international protection lodged in one of the Member States by a third-country national or a stateless person, under the conditions laid down in Article 4 thereof.

Lorsque l’étranger qui se présente à la frontière demande à bénéficier du droit d’asile, il est informé sans délai, dans une langue qu’il comprend ou dont il est raisonnable de penser qu’il la comprend, de la procédure de demande d’asile et de son déroulement, de ses droits et obligations au cours de cette procédure, des conséquences que pourrait avoir le non-respect de ses obligations ou le refus de coopérer avec les autorités et des moyens dont il dispose pour l’aider à présenter sa demande.
Lorsque l’examen de la demande d’asile est susceptible de relever de la responsabilité d’un autre Etat, l’étranger est informé, dans une langue qu’il comprend ou dont il est raisonnable de penser qu’il la comprend, de l’application du règlement (UE) n° 604/2013 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 26 juin 2013 établissant les critères et mécanismes de détermination de l’Etat membre responsable de l’examen d’une demande de protection internationale introduite dans l’un des Etats membres par un ressortissant de pays tiers ou un apatride, dans les conditions fixées par son article 4.
