Article R4127-204 of the French Public Health Code

Dental surgeons must under no circumstances practise their profession in conditions likely to compromise the quality of the care and procedures provided or the safety of patients. In particular, he must take, and ensure that his assistants take, all appropriate measures to avoid the transmission of any pathology whatsoever.

Save in exceptional circumstances, he must not perform procedures, give care or formulate prescriptions in areas that exceed his professional competence or the material possibilities available to him.

Le chirurgien-dentiste ne doit en aucun cas exercer sa profession dans des conditions susceptibles de compromettre la qualité des soins et des actes dispensés ainsi que la sécurité des patients. Il doit notamment prendre, et faire prendre par ses adjoints ou assistants, toutes dispositions propres à éviter la transmission de quelque pathologie que ce soit.

Sauf circonstances exceptionnelles, il ne doit pas effectuer des actes, donner des soins ou formuler des prescriptions dans les domaines qui dépassent sa compétence professionnelle ou les possibilités matérielles dont il dispose.
