When heating is carried out by means of combustion furnaces, the pressure of the air circuit must always be higher than the pressure of the burnt gases.
A safety device automatically switches off the appliance or the air-heating exchanger and stops the fans when the air temperature exceeds 120°C. However, this device is not required for independent appliances emitting heat only in the rooms where they are installed, or when the air is heated by an exchanger unable to reach this temperature.
All combustible materials are forbidden inside distribution or return ducts, with the exception of accessories for terminal units located in a room.
This requirement also applies to controlled mechanical ventilation systems and to all ducts connecting several levels.
