Article R4321-103 of the French Public Health Code

The masseur-physiotherapist must offer to consult a colleague as soon as circumstances require, or accept a request from the patient or those close to the patient. He will respect the patient’s choice and, unless there are serious objections, will refer the patient or ask a colleague to do so. At the end of the consultation, and with the patient’s consent, the colleague consulted will inform the treating masseur-physiotherapist in writing of his findings, conclusions and any prescriptions.

Le masseur-kinésithérapeute doit proposer la consultation d’un confrère dès que les circonstances l’exigent ou accepte celle qui est demandée par le patient ou son entourage. Il respecte le choix du patient et, sauf objection sérieuse, l’adresse ou fait appel à un confrère. A l’issue de la consultation, et avec le consentement du patient, le confrère consulté informe par écrit le masseur-kinésithérapeute traitant de ses constatations, conclusions et éventuelles prescriptions.
