Article R4322-55 of the French Public Health Code

Every person has the right to be informed by the chiropodist of the examinations and assessments which he/she intends to carry out or have carried out, and of the various investigations, treatments or preventive actions which he/she proposes to carry out. In particular, the chiropodist must inform the patient of their usefulness, their consequences, the normally foreseeable risks they entail, alternative solutions and the possible consequences of refusal.

Toute personne a le droit d’être informée par le pédicure-podologue des examens et bilans qu’il envisage de pratiquer ou de faire pratiquer ainsi que des différentes investigations, traitements ou actions de prévention qu’il lui propose de réaliser. Le pédicure-podologue doit notamment l’informer sur leur utilité, leurs conséquences, les risques envisageables normalement prévisibles qu’ils comportent, les autres solutions et les conséquences possibles en cas de refus.
