When temporary work at a height cannot be performed from the work surface as referred to in Article R. 4323-58, appropriate work equipment is chosen to ensure and maintain safe working conditions.
Priority is given to work equipment providing collective protection.
The dimensions of the work equipment are adapted to the nature of the work to be carried out and the foreseeable stresses, and allow safe movement.
Measures are implemented to minimise the risks inherent in the use of the type of equipment selected. Where necessary, protective devices to prevent or arrest falls and prevent personal injury to workers are installed and implemented under the conditions set out in articles R. 4323-60 and R. 4323-61.
