Article R434-13 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

After checking the documents in the family reunification application file and issuing the interested party with a certificate stating that their application has been submitted, the services of the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration will send a copy of the file to the mayor of the foreign national’s commune of residence or to the mayor of the commune where the foreign national plans to settle.

Après vérification des pièces du dossier de demande de regroupement familial et délivrance à l’intéressé de l’attestation de dépôt de sa demande, les services de l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration transmettent une copie du dossier au maire de la commune de résidence de l’étranger ou au maire de la commune où l’étranger envisage de s’établir.
