Article R434-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The legal residence in France of at least eighteen months referred to in article L. 434-2 must have been completed under cover of the residence documents referred to in article R. 434-1 or the following documents:
1° A long-stay visa, conferring on its holder the rights attached to a temporary residence permit;
2° A temporary residence permit for a period of less than one year;
3° A temporary residence permit;
4° A receipt for an application for the first issue or renewal of a residence document;
5° An asylum application certificate.

Le séjour régulier en France d’au moins dix-huit mois mentionné à l’article L. 434-2 doit avoir été accompli sous couvert des documents de séjour mentionnés à l’article R. 434-1 ou des documents suivants :
1° Un visa de long séjour, conférant à son titulaire les droits attachés à une carte de séjour temporaire ;
2° Une carte de séjour temporaire d’une durée inférieure à un an ;
3° Une autorisation provisoire de séjour ;
4° Un récépissé de demande de première délivrance ou de renouvellement d’un document de séjour ;
5° Une attestation de demande d’asile.
