Article R434-30 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The prefect informs the services of the French Office for Immigration and Integration of his decision and the date on which it was notified to the applicant. The services of the Office will forward this information without delay to the mayor and the diplomatic or consular authority of the district in which the applicant’s family lives.

Le préfet informe les services de l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration de sa décision et de la date à laquelle elle a été notifiée au demandeur. Les services de l’office transmettent sans délai cette information au maire et à l’autorité diplomatique ou consulaire de la circonscription dans laquelle habite la famille du demandeur.
