Article R4342-1-4 of the French Public Health Code

When the protocol is used for the follow-up by the orthoptist of a patient whose visual pathology has already been diagnosed, without an ophthalmological examination being carried out on the same day, in order to check that the condition remains stabilised, it specifies :

1° The length of time after which an ophthalmological medical examination is necessary;

2° The situations in which the protocol may be terminated, in particular in the event of changes appearing on the examinations carried out or the discovery of elements unrelated to the situation targeted by the protocol;

3° The procedures for forwarding to the ophthalmologist information relating to the interview and examinations carried out.

A report, signed by the ophthalmologist, is then sent to the patient.

Article R4342-1-4

1° La durée au delà de laquelle un examen médical ophtalmologique est nécessaire ;

2° Les situations de sortie du protocole, notamment en cas d’évolution apparaissant sur les examens pratiqués ou de constatation d’éléments sans rapport avec la situation ciblée par le protocole ;
