Under the responsibility and effective control of the dental surgeon or doctor practising in the field of oral medicine, the dental assistant is authorised to carry out the following activities in compliance with health and safety rules:

1° Assisting the dental surgeon or the doctor practising in the field of oral medicine in carrying out procedures before, during and after treatment;

2° Welcoming patients and communicating with them;

3° Informing and educating patients in the field of oral health;

4° Maintaining the treatment environment and equipment used in connection with activities and managing the risk of infection;

5° Managing and monitoring patient records;

6° Collecting and transmitting information and implementing traceability within the care structure;

7° Welcoming and supporting dental assistants undergoing training or newcomers to the structure and improving professional practices.

Sous la responsabilité et le contrôle effectif du chirurgien-dentiste ou du médecin exerçant dans le champ de la médecine bucco-dentaire, l’assistant dentaire est habilité à pratiquer les activités suivantes dans le respect des règles d’hygiène et de sécurité :

1° L’assistance du chirurgien-dentiste ou du médecin exerçant dans le champ de la médecine bucco-dentaire dans la réalisation des gestes avant, pendant et après les soins ;

2° L’accueil des patients et la communication à leur attention ;

3° L’information et l’éducation des patients dans le champ de la santé bucco-dentaire ;

4° L’entretien de l’environnement de soins, des matériels liés aux activités et la gestion du risque infectieux ;

5° La gestion et le suivi du dossier du patient ;

6° Le recueil, la transmission des informations, la mise en œuvre de la traçabilité dans le cadre de la structure de soins ;

7° L’accueil, l’accompagnement des assistants dentaires en formation ou nouveaux arrivants dans la structure et l’amélioration des pratiques professionnelles.
