Article R4451-104 of the French Labour Code

I.-In compliance with the principle of optimisation mentioned in 2° of Article L. 1333-2 of the Public Health Code, the employer shall ensure that, as far as possible, the exposure of workers involved in a radiological emergency is kept below the occupational exposure limit values set in 1° of Article R. 4451-6.

II -Where the conditions of intervention do not allow it, the employer shall ensure that their exposure is kept below the reference level set in I of Article R. 4451-11.

III -In exceptional situations, to save lives, prevent serious radiation-induced health effects or prevent the occurrence of catastrophic situations, the employer shall ensure that the individual exposure of the worker concerned remains below the reference level laid down in II of Article R. 4451-11.

I.-Dans le respect du principe d’optimisation mentionné au 2° de l’article L. 1333-2 du code de la santé publique, l’employeur veille à maintenir, dans la mesure du possible, l’exposition des travailleurs intervenant en situation d’urgence radiologique en dessous des valeurs limites d’exposition professionnelle fixées au 1° de l’article R. 4451-6.


II.-Lorsque les conditions d’intervention ne le permettent pas, l’employeur veille à maintenir leur exposition en dessous du niveau de référence fixé au I de l’article R. 4451-11.


III.-Dans des situations exceptionnelles, pour sauver des vies, empêcher de graves effets sanitaires radio-induits ou empêcher l’apparition de situations catastrophiques, l’employeur s’assure que l’exposition individuelle du travailleur concerné demeure en dessous du niveau de référence fixé au II de l’article R. 4451-11.
