Article R4451-22 of the French Labour Code

The employer shall identify any zone where workers are likely to be exposed to levels of ionising radiation exceeding:

1° For the whole body, assessed on the basis of the effective dose: 0.08 millisieverts per month;

2° For the extremities or the skin, assessed on the basis of the equivalent dose: 4 millisieverts per month;

3° For the concentration of radon activity in the air, assessed on the basis of the effective dose: 6 millisieverts per year.

The assessment of the exposure levels used to identify these zones is carried out by taking into account the aspects mentioned in 2°, 3°, 8° and 9° of Article R. 4451-14 and considering the permanently occupied workplace.

L’employeur identifie toute zone où les travailleurs sont susceptibles d’être exposés à des niveaux de rayonnements ionisants dépassant :

1° Pour l’organisme entier, évalués à partir de la dose efficace : 0,08 millisievert par mois ;

2° Pour les extrémités ou la peau, évalués à partir de la dose équivalente : 4 millisieverts par mois ;

3° Pour la concentration d’activité du radon dans l’air, évaluée en dose efficace : 6 millisieverts par an.

L’évaluation des niveaux d’exposition retenus pour identifier ces zones est réalisée en prenant en compte les aspects mentionnés aux 2°, 3°, 8° et 9° de l’article R. 4451-14 en considérant le lieu de travail occupé de manière permanente.
