I.-Where a worker’s exposure cannot be avoided by the use of collective protection measures, the employer shall provide appropriate and suitable personal protection equipment in order to reduce this exposure to as low a level as is reasonably possible.
He shall ensure that this equipment is worn effectively.
II.-The equipment mentioned in I is chosen after:
1° Opinion of the occupational physician who recommends, where appropriate, the maximum duration for which it may be worn uninterruptedly;
2° Consultation of the social and economic committee.
In establishments without a social and economic committee, personal protective equipment is chosen in consultation with the workers concerned.
