Article R4452-16 of the French Labour Code

When it is not possible to avoid the risks due to exposure to artificial optical radiation by other means, appropriate and suitable personal protective equipment is made available to workers. When the exposure levels laid down in articles R. 4452-5 and R. 4452-6 are exceeded, the employer must ensure that they are worn.

Lorsqu’il n’est pas possible d’éviter les risques dus à l’exposition aux rayonnements optiques artificiels par d’autres moyens, des équipements de protection individuelle, appropriés et adaptés, sont mis à la disposition des travailleurs. Lorsque les niveaux d’exposition fixés aux articles R. 4452-5 et R. 4452-6 sont dépassés, l’employeur veille à leur port effectif.
