Any employer who intends to carry out work in the vicinity of electrical lines or installations shall obtain information from the operator, whether the local representative of the energy distribution company or the operator of the public or private line or installation in question, on the voltage values of these lines or installations. In the light of this information, the employer must ensure that, while the work is being carried out, workers are not likely to approach or to approach the tools, equipment or machinery they are using, or any part of the equipment and materials they are handling, at a dangerous distance from normally energised bare conductive parts, in particular, at a distance of less than :
1° Three metres for lines or installations where the highest voltage, in rms value for alternating current, existing under normal conditions between any two conductors is less than 50,000 volts;
2° Five metres for lines or installations where the highest voltage, in rms value for alternating current, existing under normal conditions between any two conductors is equal to or greater than 50,000 volts.
