Article R4534-41 of the French Labour Code

The walls of shafts and underground galleries, the roofs of the latter, as well as any consolidation work carried out or support systems put in place, are examined:
1° Upon resumption of each work shift, over the entire height of the shafts and over the entire length of the galleries;
2° After each blast, over a length of at least 50 metres behind the blast face.
These examinations are carried out by a competent person chosen by the employer. The name and position of this person are recorded in the safety register.

Les parois des puits et des galeries souterraines, le toit de ces dernières, ainsi que les travaux de consolidation réalisés ou les dispositifs de soutènement mis en place, sont examinés :
1° A la reprise de chaque poste de travail, sur toute la hauteur des puits et sur toute la longueur des galeries ;
2° Après chaque tir de mine, sur une longueur de 50 mètres au moins en arrière du front de tir.
Ces examens sont réalisés par une personne compétente choisie par l’employeur. Le nom et la qualité de cette personne sont consignés sur le registre de sécurité.
