Payment of the fixed fine due for tickets issued using the form described in article A. 37-1 and not immediately paid to the ticketing officer is made by sending either to the service indicated on the payment card attached to the notice of offence, or to the accounting officer of the Directorate General of Public Finances, a duly completed payment card to which a fine stamp is affixed, the issue, model and terms of issue of which are set by order of the minister responsible for the budget, or a cheque attached to this card. Payment by fine stamp is not applicable for fifth class offences.
When the notice of offence has been recorded using an automated control system or a secure electronic device enabling a dematerialised official report to be drawn up, payment of the fixed fine that is not paid immediately in the hands of the ticketing officer is made either by dematerialised stamp, or by automated remote payment, or by sending a cheque attached to the payment card to the accounting officer of the Directorate General of Public Finances, or by international bank transfer. An order by the ministers of justice, the budget and the interior sets out the terms and conditions of these payments.
An order of the minister responsible for the budget sets out the conditions under which fixed-rate fines may be paid by means of a cheque made payable to the Treasury.
