For the application of 1° and 2° of Article 706-25-7, concerning persons residing in France, the proof referred to in article R. 50-44 is handed over in person to the police station or gendarmerie brigade responsible for the person’s place of residence.
For the application of 1° and 2° of article 706-25-7, if the person concerned is of French nationality and resides abroad, the proof referred to in article R. 50-44 shall be delivered in person to the French consulate or the consular section of the French embassy closest to the person’s place of residence.
If the person concerned of foreign nationality resides abroad, the supporting documents referred to in article R. 50-44 must be sent by post, with acknowledgement of receipt, to the file manager. In the latter case, the supporting documents must be accompanied by or bear a visa issued either by the foreign authorities or the diplomatic or consular posts.
In all cases, the obligation to provide proof must be fulfilled a first time within fifteen days of the date on which notification of the obligations was made and then every three months from that same date. The person must then provide proof of address no later than fifteen days following the expiry of this three-month period.
This obligation does not exempt the person from declaring and providing proof of any changes of address within fifteen days of a change.
For the application of 3° of article 706-25-7, the person concerned must make the prior declaration in person, at the police station or gendarmerie brigade to which their home belongs, at least fifteen days before the planned move.
For the application of 4° of article 706-25-7, if the person concerned is of French nationality and resides abroad, he or she must make the prior declaration in person at the French consulate or consular section of the French embassy closest to his or her home, at least fifteen days before the planned move.
If the person concerned is of foreign nationality and resides abroad, he/she must make the prior declaration at least fifteen days before the planned move by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt to the file manager.
