Article R50-73 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The placement of the person concerned referred to in the second paragraph of Article 706-25-17 takes place at the national assessment centre of the prison administration at the request of the chairman of the multidisciplinary committee on security measures.

The duration of the placement, which may not be less than six weeks or more than twelve weeks, is determined by the prison administration.

On completion of the placement of the person concerned, the national assessment centre of the prison administration will send the chairman of the multi-disciplinary committee for security measures a multi-disciplinary assessment report on dangerousness. At the same time, it will send this report to the person concerned.

Le placement de la personne concernée mentionné au deuxième alinéa de l’article 706-25-17 a lieu au centre national d’évaluation de l’administration pénitentiaire sur demande du président de la commission pluridisciplinaire des mesures de sûreté.


La durée du placement, qui ne peut ni être inférieure à six semaines, ni excéder douze semaines, est déterminée par l’administration pénitentiaire.


A l’issue du placement de la personne concernée, le centre national d’évaluation de l’administration pénitentiaire transmet au président de la commission pluridisciplinaire des mesures de sûreté un rapport d’évaluation pluridisciplinaire de dangerosité. Il communique en même temps ce rapport à la personne concernée.
