Article R511-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The administrative authority competent to ask the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons to terminate refugee status, pursuant to the first or second paragraph of article L. 511-8, is the minister responsible for asylum or the prefect of the département where the foreign national usually resides or, where the foreign national resides in Paris, the prefect of the police.

Article R511-2

L’autorité administrative compétente pour demander à l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides de mettre fin au statut de réfugié, en application du premier ou du deuxième alinéa de l’article L. 511-8, est le ministre chargé de l’asile ou le préfet du département où réside habituellement l’étranger ou, lorsque ce dernier réside à Paris, le préfet de police.
