Article R5221-2 of the French Public Health Code

Where an in vitro diagnostic medical device forms an inseparable unit with a device which, if used separately, could be considered to be a medical device within the meaning of Article L. 5211-1 and whose action is ancillary to that of the in vitro diagnostic medical device, the latter is governed by the provisions of this Title, without prejudice to the application of the provisions of Title I with regard to the medical device.

Article R5221-2

Lorsqu’un dispositif médical de diagnostic in vitro forme un ensemble indissociable avec un dispositif, qui, s’il est utilisé séparément, est susceptible d’être considéré comme un dispositif médical au sens de l’article L. 5211-1 et dont l’action est accessoire à celle du dispositif médical de diagnostic in vitro, celui-ci est régi par les dispositions du présent titre, sans préjudice de l’application des dispositions du titre Ier en ce qui concerne le dispositif médical.
