Article R53-8-37 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Magistrates from the public prosecutor’s office and any official from the public prosecutor’s office specially authorised by the public prosecutor exercise the powers granted to that magistrate for the application of this chapter.

The same applies to those granted to the department managing the file, for magistrates placed under its authority and officials specially authorised by it.

Les magistrats du parquet et tout fonctionnaire du parquet spécialement habilité par le procureur de la République exercent les compétences reconnues à ce magistrat pour l’application du présent chapitre.

Il en est de même pour celles reconnues au service gestionnaire du fichier, pour les magistrats placés sous son autorité et les fonctionnaires spécialement habilités par lui.
