Article R572-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Without prejudice to the second paragraph of Article 11-1 of Decree no. 2004-374 of 29 April 2004, the authority competent to determine the State responsible for examining an asylum application and to take a transfer decision pursuant to Article L. 572-1 is the departmental prefect and, in Paris, the police prefect.

Sans préjudice du second alinéa de l’article 11-1 du décret n° 2004-374 du 29 avril 2004, l’autorité compétente pour procéder à la détermination de l’Etat responsable de l’examen d’une demande d’asile et prendre une décision de transfert en application de l’article L. 572-1 est le préfet de département et, à Paris, le préfet de police.
