Article R615-8 of the French Intellectual Property Code

When, in a civil dispute relating to patents for invention, technical expertise appears necessary, the president of the court seised may consult, on the choice of expert, one of the bodies designated by joint order of the Keeper of the Seals and the ministers concerned.

If such consultation has been carried out, mention thereof shall be made in the judgment or ruling.

Lorsque, dans un litige civil en matière de brevets d’invention, une expertise technique apparaît nécessaire, le président de la juridiction saisie peut consulter, sur le choix de l’expert, l’un des organismes désignés par arrêté conjoint du garde des sceaux et des ministres intéressés.

S’il a été procédé à cette consultation, il en est fait mention dans l’arrêt ou le jugement.
