Article R6152-391 of the French Public Health Code

A contractual practitioner who wishes to extend his working life must submit a request to this effect to the director of the establishment in which he wishes to work, at least six months before the date on which he will reach the age limit.

The extension of activity is granted, under the conditions set out in article R. 6152-814, for periods of six months or one year, on the reasoned opinion of the head of the division, the head of the department or the head of the internal structure to which the practitioner is assigned, as well as the chairman of the establishment’s medical committee, and subject to medical fitness.

The decision is taken by the director of the establishment, who notifies the practitioner at least three months before the start of the extended period of activity.

Le praticien contractuel qui souhaite bénéficier d’une prolongation d’activité présente une demande en ce sens auprès du directeur de l’établissement dans lequel il souhaite exercer, six mois au moins avant la date à laquelle il atteindra la limite d’âge.

La prolongation d’activité est accordée, dans les conditions prévues par l’article R. 6152-814, par périodes de six mois ou un an sur avis motivés du chef de pôle, du chef de service ou du responsable de la structure interne d’affectation du praticien ainsi que du président de la commission médicale d’établissement et sous réserve d’aptitude médicale.

La décision est prise par le directeur de l’établissement qui notifie celle-ci au praticien trois mois au moins avant le début de la période de prolongation d’activité.
