Associate practitioners may claim the title of consultant associate practitioner from their eighth year of consecutive service in the same establishment as an associate practitioner and, for practitioners who have benefited from the provisions of article 33 of decree no. 2003-769 of 1st August 2003, as an associate practitioner.
Each year, the director of the establishment draws up a list of associate practitioners who meet the conditions for the title of associate consultant practitioner.
In any one establishment, the number of consultant associate practitioners may not exceed one third of the total number of associate practitioners. Applications for appointment are subject to the submission of a dossier, which is examined by the establishment’s medical committee or, where appropriate, by the medical advisory committee. The primary criteria will be seniority and service to the hospital community.
After seven consecutive years of service as an associate practitioner or associate when the person concerned has benefited from the provisions of the second paragraph of article 33 of the aforementioned decree, an associate practitioner who ceases his or her duties for a reason other than disciplinary action is entitled to the title of “former associate practitioner of the hospital of …” followed by the name of the establishment. “followed by the name of the establishment in which he/she carried out his/her duties.
If, during these seven years, he or she has worked for at least five years as a consultant associate practitioner, he or she is entitled to the title of former consultant associate practitioner followed by the name of the hospital in which he or she worked.
