The time spent in practical training by hospital medical students is set at an average of five half-days per week over twelve months.
Where appropriate, they take part in on-call duty. All on-call duty is training. Medical students take part in courses, tests and examinations during their university attendance time. They may not take part in on-call duty the day before an examination.
Hospital medical students are entitled to an eleven-hour safety break immediately after each night shift, which involves a total interruption of all hospital, outpatient and university activities.
