In order to respond as quickly as possible to requests for urgent medical assistance, the call reception and regulation centres mentioned in article L. 6112-5 have a single telephone number, 15.
While respecting medical confidentiality, the facilities of these centres allow for the reciprocal transfer of calls and, if possible, telephone conferencing with the call reception centres of the fire and rescue services with the 18 call number, as well as with those of the police and gendarmerie services.
The call reception centres for numbers 15 and 18 keep each other informed of operations in progress as quickly as possible.
They redirect to the appropriate centre any call that does not fall directly within their sphere of action.
When the call reception and regulation centres receive a request for urgent medical assistance corresponding to an emergency requiring the concomitant intervention of medical and rescue resources, they immediately transmit the information to the fire and rescue services, which then call in the appropriate resources, in accordance with their missions.
The same call reception and regulation centres are immediately informed of calls received by the telephone call reception centres of the fire and rescue services in the case of an emergency situation mentioned in article R. 6311-1.
