Departmental specifications setting out the framework and conditions for organising on-call medical transport services are drawn up by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency after consulting the medical transport sub-committee of the departmental committee for emergency medical assistance, permanent care and medical transport.
It defines in particular
1° The division of the departmental or interdepartmental territory into on-call sectors, taking into account the needs of the population, the characteristics of the territory and the health services available;
2° The sectors and times when medical transport on-call is organised, within the limits of the hourly ceilings set for the region by order of the ministers responsible for health and social security;
3° The conditions under which a medical transport company on the on-call roster may be replaced;
4° The procedures for identifying medical transport companies that volunteer to respond to requests for urgent medical transport from the emergency medical assistance service outside on-call duty;
5° The procedures for implementing and participating in ambulance coordination in conjunction with the emergency medical assistance service;
6° A reminder of the obligations incumbent on each of the players in application of the provisions in force;
7° The procedures for monitoring and evaluating the organisation of on-call duty and urgent medical transport and the procedures for revising this organisation.
In addition, the departmental specifications reference the applicable vehicle hygiene and disinfection standards and protocols.
